Ben Van NESPEN Harpsichord – J. S. BACH

Inventionen und Sinfonien, BWV 772-801

The very first harpsichord CD for Darling Publications own CD label Darling´s Acoustical Delight. Recorded n a simple but more than adequate way with exceptional equipment like the Sonodore microphones by the Dutch Rens Heijnis with a Swiss Nagra recorder. And indeed the first seconds after the today already almost vintage style 12 cm CD started spinning in the Marantz CD73 player and the first notes were entering the sound stage of the Apogees, we knew this recording was worth making and waiting for! The sound of the Geert Karman harpsichord, recorded in the little church from Millegem, Ranst near Antwerp, was captured highly realistically, an experience seldom to be made listening to harpsichord recordings! Highly recommendable!

Take the opportunity to hear the recording, on the today rare to find Apogees which initiated this CD. Especially as the fashion of today towards streaming and mobile telephones as sources and listening by mainly in-ear bluetooth headphones does affect our listening habit and our sense of sound quality. Unfortunately not in a positive way, we notice…
