New CD Release!

Darling Publications is very pleased to announce the release of the result of a rather surprising CD production, which occured through an unplanned meeting of the famed Dutch harpsichord maker Geert Karman and Andy Lim in Cologne listening on Apogee magnetostatic speakers to test recordings of a clavichord which Geert made. The rarely heard sound quality, made with Sonodore microphones and a Nagra recorder was obviously so convincing that it resulted in a recording with Belgian harpsichord player Ben Van Nespen with the Bach Inventions and Sinfonias, recorded in a charming chapel in Millegem/ Ranst near Antwerp. Of course on an instrument made by Geert Karman! By chance the only other pair of Apogee magnetostats happen to be accessible in the center of Antwerp, in an 16th Century Antwerp renaissance building, where the most exceptional contemporary instruments of the violin family are created in Belgium. A more than adequate location for the CD launch, we think…

Take the opportunity to hear the recording, recorded in a simple but more than adequate way with 2 Sonodore microphones by Rens Heijnis from the Netherlands and a State of the Art NAGRA recorder, on the today rare to find Apogees which initiated this CD. Especially as the fashion of today towards streaming and mobile telephones as sources and listening by mainly in-ear bluetooth headphones does affect our listening habit and our sense of sound quality. Unfortunately not in a positive way, we notice…
